Brett Baldeck is proud to call Charlotte home. He joined the Queen City News team in March 2016 after reporting in Springfield, Illinois and Bowling Green, Kentucky. Brett is originally from Rochester, New York.
During his time here Brett has reported on some of the Carolinas biggest stories including traveling to the coast for Hurricane Matthew, being embedded in Uptown during the Keith Scott protests, traveling to Columbia, South Carolina to cover the 2018 solar eclipse and traveling around the Charlotte area during Hurricane Florence. Brett even did live reports for FOX News Channel during Hurricane Florence.
When Brett isn’t digging deeper into stories that impact the Carolinas, you will probably find him at a local park with his adopted dog “Nayla”. He also spends his spare time at the gym trying to stay healthy from all the amazing food and beer Charlotte has to offer.
You may recognize Brett from QCN’s extensive NASCAR coverage. He grew up as a motorsports fan and is proud to cover the most popular motorsport in America and the impact it has on Charlotte.
Brett is a member of the National Motorsports Press Association. You’ll find him reporting from the field during our “Around The Track” pre-race shows. He’s also a driver in his spare time, using the iRacing simulation platform.
