Mike Lacett

Mike Lacett joined the Charlotte Sports Live Sports team as a sports anchor and reporter in the summer of 2022.

Mike came to North Carolina after a four-year stint covering sports in Grand Rapids, Michigan. It was his 6th different TV station in a career in broadcasting that spans almost two decades.

Among some of Mike’s biggest assignments is Muhammad Ali’s death, Lamar Jackson winning the Heisman Trophy In New York City, and American Pharoah claiming horse racing’s first Triple Crown in almost four decades. He has also covered the College Football Playoff from the Orange Bowl in Miami, Florida, numerous NCAA Tournaments, the PGA Championship, and the World Series.

Mike is a two-time Emmy winner, having won the Best Sports Reporter Award in Michigan in both 2020 and 2021.

Mike was born in New York but grew up in Princeton Junction, New Jersey. He got his start in broadcasting at his high school radio station, WWPH 107.9 FM. Mike graduated from Syracuse University in 2005 and currently lives in Mathews with his wife Abby and his daughter Kara.

In his free time, Mike enjoys watching almost every movie in theaters, collecting basketball jerseys, and drinking every Diet Snapple from your local grocery store.
