I’m doing the job I love in the place I love, my hometown. I grew up in Concord, and I’m grateful to be back home telling the stories of such wonderful people in and around the Charlotte area.
I’m a true Carolina girl, not just because of my North Carolina roots, but because I’ve worked at TV stations in every region of South Carolina too. I’m a proud graduate of Central Cabarrus High School and Furman University. I was a high school and college cheerleader-Go Vikings and Paladins!
After college, I started my career as a digital journalist at WJWJ-TV in Beaufort, SC. I was nominated for an Emmy for continuing coverage of a plane crash, and I won an award for consumer and economic reporting from the Radio Television Digital News Association of the Carolinas.
Most recently, I worked at WSPA-TV in the Anderson bureau, so my last two stops gave me a good dose of the intense rivalry between Clemson and USC.
Now that I’m home, I’m enjoying another rivalry and rooting for my Blue Devils. I’m also introducing my husband, an Ohio native, to the true “First in Flight” state…What’s your story? Tweet or email me, and watch Queen City News!
