CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A man was killed in a multi-vehicle wreck Monday afternoon in the Steele Creek area, according to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police.
The deadly accident happened at 12:52 p.m. Monday, Sept. 18, in the 2800 block of Sandy Porter Road. As CMPD officers arrived at the scene, they found a 2005 Buick Lacrosse with extensive passenger-side damage and a 1998 Ford Econoline van with heavy front-end damage.
The driver of the Buick, Issac Lindsey Huey Jr., 46, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
CMPD said the Buick was traveling southeast on Sandy Porter Road when the driver lost control, ran off the right side of the road, and overcorrected. The Buick then veered into oncoming traffic and was struck in the passenger side by the Ford van, driven by, 67-year-old Edgardo Reyes. The man was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

It is unknown if speed or impairment are factors in this crash. Toxicology results are pending.
