CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) — The cause of death of a 20-year-old UNC-Charlotte student is now known, after her autopsy was released by the Chief Medical Examiner’s Office in Raleigh.

Polly Rogers fell out of the emergency exit of a party bus just before 10:30 p.m. on May 1 in the 4500 block of N. Tryon St. in Uptown.

The medical examiner says Rogers died of multiple blunt trauma injuries and from being hit by cars.

It was noted that Rogers had several abrasions on her body, the most severe of which were on her lower body. She also had lacerations and contusions on her head.

Officials say Rogers had been drinking the night she fell out of the bus. She had a blood alcohol content of .19, according to a report released by the Chief Medical Examiner, more than double the legal limit in the State of North Carolina for anyone 21 and older.

Rogers was a special education major at UNC-Charlotte, and was a passenger on the bus, owned by Charlotte Party Charters.

The Kappa Sigma fraternity suspended operations of the Kappa Omega chapter at UNCC, following Rogers’ death.

Victor Rabb, the owner of Charlotte Party Charters, was cited in the incident. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg police said the party bus was uninsured and had a fake license plate. Rabb also turned the bus over to the NC Highway Patrol, following the accident, for further investigation.
