CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) — “Stop the violence people, please. Please stop, love each other, stop the hate,” said Debbie White.

A strong message coming from one of the several walking into St. Paul Baptist Church on Saturday for the funeral of 27-year-old Kendal Crank.

“I wanted to show my support for the family. That could’ve been me, one of my nieces, one of my family members and this gun violence in Charlotte, North Carolina needs to stop,” White said.

Police: 3 arrested in ‘senseless’ killing of Charlotte mother

Crank, a mother of two, was shot and killed while in her car on March 28 in North Charlotte. She was an innocent bystander on her way to nursing school.

“She’s such a sweet and innocent person and you just would’ve never thought Kendal of all people. No one should have to grow up without no mother,” said one friend.

Some telling FOX 46 while today is about the celebration of Crank’s life, today is also about a promising life of a young mother taken too soon over nothing.

“What I need for them to take from this is stop the violence. It is so unnecessary and it’s senseless,” White said.

While others say this is just another reminder tomorrow isn’t promised.

“Hold on to your family close. You only get one life.”
