HARRISBURG, N.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) — Two more teenagers have been arrested in connection to a deadly shooting that happened in Harrisburg back in December, according to the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office. 

Mason Ray Whitener, 18, of Huntersville, and Gabrielle Skye Dabney, 18, of Charlotte, have both been arrested and charged with conspiracy to commit a felony and misdemeanor possession of marijuana between .5 to 1.5 ounces. Both are being held under a $250,000 bond. 

On Friday, Dec. 28, at 9:50 p.m., the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office received calls from several Harrisburg residents who heard gunshots near their homes.

Deputies responded to the area and while attempting to locate the source of the gunfire they were advised of a suspicious vehicle located at Harrisburg Park. Upon arrival, deputies found two young men with gunshot wounds. Taryn Presley Jr., 20, of Kannapolis, was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries. Nicholas Body, 18, of Concord, was treated and released from the hospital.

Since the shooting a total of five people have been arrested in connection to the deadly incident. 

Nicholas John Carl Brooks, 17, of Harrisburg, has been charged with murder and conspiracy to commit a felony. Jaylen Dashawn Tyson, 19, of Charlotte, has been charged with murder and conspiracy to commit a felony, and Joenel Santiago, 17, of Harrisburg, has been charged with conspiracy to commit a felony.
