CHARLOTTE, N.C. (FOX 46) — Crime scene, after crime scene, after crime scene.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department responded to four different charlotte neighborhoods in a little more than just 24 hours because of gunfire.

Some of these incidents were deadly.

The most recent one was Sunday afternoon on Irma Street where three people were shot.

Sunday morning, three people were shot outside of a business after a leaving a private party on Norland Road.

Saturday night, police received a call about a shooting on Elm Forest Drive and discovered a man dead when they arrived. 

On Saturday afternoon, officers said a group of suspects approached a car on Perth Court and started shooting into it, killing one and injuring another. 

For non-violence advocates like Will Adams, this is painful, especially on Mother’s Day weekend.

“What causes you to want to commit this kind of crime, or act violent towards a person, like is it really that serious?” he said.

Adams is part of Team Trublue, a stop the violence organization that targets young people. He plans to turn this into a learning experience for the young people he mentors. 

“Somebody may be looking at this like you know what  I don’t want to go away for life, so that’s not the road or the avenue i’m going to take,” he said.

As a father whose 15-year-old son was killed due to gun violence in 2008, Adams feels empathizes for the families whose loved ones were injured or killed.
