CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — Two people are dead and multiple others are injured following a serious multi-vehicle crash Tuesday night in south Charlotte, police said.
The fatal accident happened at 9:39 p.m. Tuesday, March 4, in the 9000 block of Park Road.
According to Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police, as officers arrived at the scene, they located a Jeep Wrangler and Honda Pilot with extensive damage.
Medic pronounced the driver of the Jeep, Teresa Marie Miller, 36, deceased at the scene. The driver and juvenile rear-seat passenger of the Honda were taken to Atrium Health Main with serious injuries, CMPD said.
The front-seat passenger of the Honda Pilot, Rosalina Santos, was taken to Atrium Health Main with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced deceased due to injuries from the crash.

Authorities determined that Miller was traveling north, speeding, on Park Road when she lost control of her Jeep. She crossed the southbound lanes and hit the Honda.
Police said the Jeep continued off the left side of the road and struck a tree.
Excessive speed and impairment by Miller are suspected to be contributing factors in this crash, CMPD said. The driver of the Honda was screened for DWI and was determined to not have been impaired. The investigation into this crash is active and ongoing.
