YORK COUNTY, S.C. (FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) – A search was underway for a possibly “armed and dangerous” suspect Wednesday evening in Rock Hill, the York County Sheriff’s Office said.

The Sheriff’s Office says they were called to the scene in the 4400 block of Marshall Road for a report of a shooting involving multiple individuals.

When authorities arrived, they found 5 people dead, including a prominent doctor, his wife and their two young grandchildren. A fifth person was found dead outside the home.

Residents were asked to remain in their homes and lock their doors as the search for the suspect continued.

York County Sheriff’s Officials said the suspected shooter was found in a nearby home, but would not say if the person was in custody.
