A Kings Mountain man was arrested on Thursday for allegedly attacking three people with a “knife and pitchfork” back in November.
Kings Mountain Police said 54-year old Billy Joe Meeks went to a home off Walker Street in Kings Mountain back on November 22 where his ex-girlfriend and others were staying — and tried to kill her over past cheating allegations.
A 14-year old girl was also inside the home during the incident.
Police said Meeks had just got out of a four-month jail sentence for D.W.I. hours before he went to the home.
Upon arrival, police said Meeks stabbed a man on the chest, punched a woman in the face and damaged property — all before he was stabbed by the male victim with a pocket knife, fleeing the scene shortly after.
Meeks, reportedly, came back hours later with the pitchfork — trying to kill his ex-girlfriend.
Meeks was arrested by Gaston County Police on Thursday. He had been on-the-run ever since the alleged crime.
Kings Mountain Police said it had assistance from the U.S. Marshals during the investigation.
Meeks sits in the Gaston County Jail under a $150,000 bond. Charges include Felony Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Felony Burglary, Misdemeanor Assault of a Female and Injury to Real Property.
