CHARLOTTE, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) — A man was hospitalized with multiple stab wounds in northwest Charlotte Friday afternoon.

Medic said emergency personnel took the man to Atrium Health CMC from a park bench in the 1600 block of Ashley Road.

Queen City News was on the scene and witnessed the man’s treatment.

According to witnesses, a dark-skinned woman approached a man sitting on bus stop bench and stabbed him multiple times, and then ran off.

A Queen City News photographer saw one Charlotte Fire Department battalion chief administering first aid at the scene. In the next few minutes, a dozen Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police cars arrived, along with the firetruck and an ambulance. The victim was conscious and alert, and was loaded into the ambulance.

Police would not say if the woman in question was apprehended or the victim’s medical status. Neither witness did not want to talk on camera.
