CHARLOTTE, NC (FOX 46 WJZY) — Authorities in Charlotte are advising drivers and riders on the city’s public transportation system to be prepared for delays ahead of President Donald Trump’s arrival in the Queen City.
The President is set to make a visit Friday night to Bojangles Coliseum, where he will rally with Republican Mark Harris, who is running for Congress.
A heavy police presence was already seen Thursday night surrounding Bojangles Coliseum.
The President is set to arrive on Air Force One to Charlotte-Douglas International Airport around 6:00 p.m.
The exact route of the motorcade has not been released for security reasons, but with the airport and coliseum on opposite ends of Charlotte, authorities are advising people to be ready for delays all across the city, affecting everything from cars, public transportation and school buses.
They’re asking, where available, that people give themselves extra time to deal with the expected traffic congestion.
The President’s appearance comes ahead of forecasted adverse weather and also for high traffic ahead of a Hornets game to be played at the Spectrum Center.
