CORNELIUS, N.C. (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Two suspects are in custody following a deadly weekend shooting in Cornelius.

According to Cornelius Police Department, officers responded to Lynn Drive shortly after 2:30 p.m. Saturday and found Cornelius resident James Johnson, 55, dead at the scene.

On Monday officers said 19-year-old Geovany Munoz and 53-year-old Arnaldo Munoz had been arrested and face first-degree murder charges. An initial investigation revealed the victim and the suspects were neighbors and the shooting was a result of a dispute between the parties.

Police noted that the case is still active, but that the shooting does not appear to be random.
