Holiday travel heating up ahead of Thanksgiving
As Thanksgiving draws near, transportation officials are preparing for pre-pandemic levels of travelers over the holiday week.
In a Thursday press conference, CMPD is asking the public’s help. They say a man used a stolen officer’s badge to say he was a cop. Steven Bridges, 29, did not work for the law enforcement agency and had no special equipment on his car. They don’t think Bridges performed any official acts or made any traffic stops.
Five years ago, CMPD officer Phillip Barker hit a man in the street while driving at fast speeds to another crash scene. The trial started after days of jury selection. Both the prosecution and the defense the case with witnesses taking the stand. Baker is expected to testify at some point during the trial.
